  •  I hope this is your last "diary" (5+ / 0-)

    These flimsy "stories" I'm seeing linked to take a germ of fact — that some of the Romney family may have invested in a company that makes voting machines sold to and OWNED BY Ohio counties — to mean that the Romney family somehow controls election systems and results. The original story makes some connections but does not reach this conclusion. Screaming head-clutchers who are reading the stories and recycling them in their blogs are adding them, and like a game of telephone, it gets worse with each retelling.

    So while some member(s) of the Romney family MAY have invested in the company that is connected to the voting machine company in order to make a profit, they do not control voting, and they do not own the machines. And in Ohio the machines are used only in two counties, one of which is electorally irrelevant.

    You haven't seen it covered because there is really no story here.

    •  The problem (3+ / 0-)

      is that ANY part of the electoral process is in private hands.

      Everything else is gravy.

    •  The story is there, alright. Refutation is needed (1+ / 0-)

      Unfortunately, the story is mushrooming. Google H.I.G Capital and you will see.l It can be found on:

      --progressive blogs;
      --Bradblog, with a roundup of the earliest stories before it blew up in the past 24 hours;
      --as a Dkos diary on 10/18--i'll let you find it yourself.
      --in a comment today that Tagg Romney runs the company that is counting votes.

      However, you will not find it, where it would be if it was a real threat, that is on election law blogs,

      Gotoblog for voterprotection/election fraud

      including those specific to Ohio, found at the OSU Moritz School of Law site.

      So as PotUS would say: Thanks Ohio! GOTV is where we need you, connecting people with polls.

      •  So progressive blogs, Daily Kos, et al (0+ / 0-)

        quote each other and call it "mushrooming." Round and round it goes...self-perpetuating false conspiracies.  Especially love that a comment on Tagg Romney is cited as a source.  Genius!

        Unless you show some degree of open minded flexibility to consider "possibilities," I won't respond to you again as you do not seem to be willing to have discussion.  And I have better things to do with my time.
